So I had my first real SPAM message on my blog Which means I have to add some security features. I'm thinking of logging the users IP and if I think you are a spammer you'll be added into my ban list

On an other note, I'm also thinking of upgrading the blog with some AJAX features. If you check my archives list you'll see some fancy animated javascript when you click on it Well, just be sure to keep checking the blog, I'm sure you'll be seeing some changes soon.

Yosep, who helps me find an internship in Jakarta, asked me to show some work I did in After Effects. So I uploaded an animation on http://sammy.nu. I made the animation for a portfolio cd-rom. The idea was to make a portfolio made for three different target groups: Employers, Teachers and Fellow Students.

I hope they like the animation, I only feel bad that I couldn't show the rest of the portfolio already. That's what you get when you are working on multiple projects at the same time, but I'll try to make some improvements on the website soon.

I registered a new domain name and am now the owner of http://sammy.nu. I wanted a domain name that people could easily remember and one that looked more professional than http://sexysammy.nl.

Unfortunately http://sammy.nl was already taken, it would have cost me € 750,- to buy the domain name. That's a bit too expensive for just an .nl domain extension.

But I'm happy with the .nu behind my first name. At the moment I'm pretty occupied with other projects, so I haven't been able to make a proper design nor made any adjustments to http://sexysammy.nl.

So what am I working on now?? I'm doing a project with my brother called: Cut out for Dance. The project is inspired on the work of Matisse. Tomorrow I have a meeting with a film maker and the "producer" of this project. Coming monday and tuesday we will film the project in Den Hague.

This thursday I also have to show some results for the research project I do at school. And in the back of my mind there are other projects that I really want to work on. Like the design for sammy.nu I made it very quickly cause I just had to. There was just an urge in me that needed to be fulfilled. Luckily it didn't really take me long to finish the result, but my mind is a bit jumpy. I have problems focussing on one task.

Well, break is over.. Back to work..

I made an other adjustment. I moved sexysammy.nl from sexysammy.maeksm.com to http://sexy.sammy.nu .

Hurray, it's my birthday and on this special day everybody is allowed to do something silly. So climb on the chair you are sitting on now and scream that you like chocolate easter eggs or something else that makes you look retarded.

If anybody gives you a weird look, just reply with: "What?? Don't you know it's Sammy's birthday??"

Yet another upgrade to the website, I keep adding sexiness to the website As you can see I have smilies now. But that isn't the only change I made to the website. Real beauty and sexiness comes from within

Hehehe.. The change, you might not have noticed, is that I'm now using the php framework CodeIgniter. For the people who don't know CodeIgniter or aren't into web development, CodeIgniter Rocks your Socks.. There I said it.. It just literally sweeps you of your feet and makes your socks do the twist.. It's that good

An other thing I changed is that your e-mail is now protected from spam-bots. So don't be afraid to leave your e-mail in your comments. CodeIgniter comes with a function that "writes an obfuscated version of the mailto tag using ordinal numbers written with JavaScript to help prevent the email address from being harvested by spam bots". (Yeah, I quoted that from the manual)

Oh and have you seen how the whole website is XHTML 1.0 Strict validated.. That's just sooo Sexy

only one more day here in the smallest country of southeast asia. Tomorrow I fly back to the European part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The last few days I have been busy with a lot of nothing and more. I am currently working on my project and still in the process of learning Panda3D. Focusing on finishing everything for school and starting on my bachelor thesis. I went to see the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a library. The facilities for studying here in Singapore are amazing. The people here are really into learning and you see them reading and studying everywhere.

Last week I went to Kuala Lumpur and things where very different there. It most less developed obviously than Singapore but more developed than Indonesia. I went up the Petronas Twin Towers which was pretty amazing, high and best of all free. The only downside was you had to go and get tickets before eight am to go up there.

I also went to Genting Highlands which was just plain weird. Imaging thousands of chinese people gambling in things that look like factory halls. The cable car ride up there came with awesome views but terrifying heights…

I will miss the tempature… Starbucks… structure… food… basically a lot of things but most of it all the colour with variation on the streets and the clear blue sky which just makes you happy…

As you can see the website is redirected to my old website. The website with the somewhat complicated URL. Or if you like the not so sexy website http://www.maeksm.com. As some of you know Maeksm has been my nick on the internet for almost 8 year, but it's been a nick too difficult to remember.

Hurray, it's finally online. I'm going to use this website as my personal blog. As you can see it is pretty empty in here. I only have a banner (but one heck of a banner, isn't it? I made it myself .

I made this website when I found out that Lycos had this thing where I could have a website for 1 euro the first year. So I registered "sexysammy.nl", I found the url to be funny and it is easy to remember. The downfall of the hosting is that they offer me a stripped version of their service. I don't have a database and I can't use ftp to upload my files. But that doesn't stop me from using this website to it's fullest potential, I still paid a whole euro for it, right? (Hey, I'm still dutch)

Yes, that's right I'm dutch. So why do I type this story in english you think? Well, for one I have some international friends who don't speak dutch and two I have family in Indonesia who suffer from the same problem. Speaking about Indonesia, I am planning on doing my internship in Jakarta this september :D I'm so psyched about it, even though I still don't have an internship place yet. So if you know an internship place for me in Jakarta, Indonesia please let me know.

I'd like to do motion graphics, but I'm also talented in web development (Although this website doesn't really shows my php skills , but you can blame the host for not giving me a database to work with)

3D sounds like fun too, I had several 3D classes and would like to learn more about that too. But if I had to pick I would choose an internship place for motion graphic above the rest.

Four days ago, after six months of study in Indonesia, I arrived in Singapore. My first impression is amazing! I am a tourist again… After a long time in Bali I was bored and in Singapore I recaptured the urge to go out and discover.

The first day I went to a big and expensive shopping complex on Orchard road. I did some window shopping and I went to a movie in a way to cold theater for only shorts+shirt and flipflops.

The next day I did almost the same except I had to sleep late first. I went to some other shopping malls and did some walking around. At night I went on a safari where Jurassic Park the movie which I saw when I was 14 came totally back to me. It was awesome…

After the Zoo we set out for the surething Singapore todo, a singapore sling in the Long bar of the Raffles Hotel.

Singapore is great for walking around with amazement. The feeling was a bit when I was in New York. So after another day of walking around and using the MRT the excellent tube system. I came back to my hostel and had dinner and went to bed early because all that walking is exausting.

In a few hours I will travel by train to Kuala Lumpur(KL). I am really looking forward to KL although I am a bit worried that I won’t like because Singapore is so great.

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time already and I promised (Again or didn´t I) to update more� at least post more stuff and stuff so please bare with me while I am trying to to do/begin that now.

This morning when I visited my blog I saw SPAM. So I directly removed these bothersome messages and implemented some anti spam measures. Next to that I noticed people leaving messages in older posts. So I also added a fix that makes it impossible to reply on posts older then 45 days.

As I am about to leave Bali for Singapore, Malaysia and finally The Netherlands there are some things to finish up. For Singapore I made reservations in Hostel. This time was the first time I really needed a credit card for myself. I wanted to book a spot in Hangout Hotel but somehow they only accept credit cards for payment. So the next best option was with the same name as a good friend of mine (except the sam´s part) Sleepy Sam´s. I am really looking forward to Singapore and Malaysia. Of course when I am in Singapore I will have to make reservations for my place to stay in Malaysia where I would have to make reservations for my stay in The Netherlands. Also I will ship some stuff. In half a year people can gather a lot of junk. Too bad I can´t ship my Japanese Tiger. But that is probably because they are endangered�

What am I doing now here is basically waiting for me to move on. I am working on My school project but progress is somehow very slow. I have been reading a lot. One of the last books I read is “Blink” by Malcolm Gladwell. Probably when you first entered this site you knew if it was going to be good or not. Within a first few seconds you would have an opinion about this site. Your judgment can differ but will that view turn out to be correct? The book Blink is all about this first impression. It is a very easy to read and understand book. The author made it very fun and light to read with lots of good examples. If you have first impression wisdom that is often correct or you say you have good people judgment than this book could be interesting for you.

After seeing some photoshopped images off my not so sleepy friend on friendster. I decided I would also give it a try.
